For those who know me, or have followed my posts, know I am a dedicated runner. My father was a very successful runner in college, and even beyond, so it isn’t surprising that his three daughters all became runners.
I ran my first road race at 3 years old, was coached under my father throughout middle school and high school and continued to run into college. I took a small hiatus after sustaining my 4th metatarsal stress fracture, but eventually returned to running and, now, race mostly 10K’s and half-marathons.
Even though my stress fractures took me away from racing competitively for a period of time, they were also the catalyst for me to pursue a career in medicine. With the help of my doctors, I was able to return to running, which has been a passion of mine for decades. Going through my recovery process and being able to get back to racing fueled a new passion and goal to become a doctor and help others recover from their injuries or to remain active. It has also, now, made me want to share my love for running and knowledge with others.
I am excited to announce that I am now officially offering online, personalized running programs. Whether you have never run before and just want to be more active, you have plateaued and need to change up your training regimen, or you are looking to transition from a 10K runner to a half-marathoner, a program can be customized for specifically for you.
Once you have chosen a race (e.g. 5k, 10k, half-marathon), contact me for a free phone consultation. I will call you to learn more details about your running history and goals. A personalized online training program will then be created to fit your specific needs, athletic ability, and schedule. The plan will be emailed to you on a weekly basis and adjustments can be made along the way, as necessary. You will also have unlimited access to me via email or phone, should any questions or concerns arise along the way.
What Makes Me Qualified to Coach You?
I have not only been a competitive runner for decades, I have experience in coaching track and personal training. Furthermore, I am a board-certifiied foot and ankle specialist, specializing in sports medicine and biomechanics, so I have an extensive understanding of the lower extremity, foot-related injuries, and even shoe gear.
Having suffered multiple running injuries myself, I can also relate to, and help, those with past running injuries. I was able to PR by 5 minutes in the half-marathon after sustaining an ankle fracture and being away from racing for 3 years!
