Dermal Filler for Your Feet!

Dermal Foot Fillers for Fat Pad Atrophy

  • As people age, they often lose the fat, or cushion, underneath their feet, making certain bony areas (typically the balls of the feet and heels) more prominent and painful. This is where fillers come into play. The same fillers used by dermatologists and plastic surgeons for the face can be placed along the bottoms of the feet, thus adding cushion to those bony, prominent, and painful areas and allowing you to go back into those high heeled shoes!

  • At Your Feet offers Juvederm®, a biodegradable, hyaluronic acid, injectable gel implant filler.

Who May Benefit?

  • Those with fat pad atrophy underneath the ball of the foot or heel as a result of multiple steroid injections or advanced age.

  • Those with significantly high arches who put increased pressure underneath the ball of the foot and heel.

  • Those with ball of the foot pain as a result of previous surgery.

The Procedure: What to Expect

  • Local anesthetic is used to help numb the area around the injection site first.

  • A small needle is then used to fill the atrophied area with the filler.

  • Aftercare instructions will be dispensed to you after the procedure. You should be able to return to work the following day.

  • The effects can last from a couple months up to a year. The filler is biodegradable, though, so the need for repeat injections is possible.
